This is a fun new take on onion dip. This recipe balances out the sweetness of the onions with the savor of the cream mixture. It’s a new party favorite!
- In a large saute pan over medium heat add olive oil, butter, salt, and onions. Once onions become translucent reduce heat to low. Add brown sugar and cook onions down until they are a deep caramel color, string every few minutes. This will take 35-40 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix together sour cream and cream cheese until smooth. Add pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce, mix to combine. Finally, stir in onions once cooled.
- Serve with potato chips, crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh veggies.
- Dip can be stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
