I couldn’t find a holiday dessert recipe that was exactly what I wanted this year, so I decided to create my own! I pulled together a few different recipes and adapted them to make this Gingerbread Custard Torte.
For the base, I baked a full gingerbread cake recipe from Cakes by MK but used loaf pans instead of a Bundt pan. The silky vanilla custard came from Spend With Pennies, though I only used half of the recipe to fit the torte. The mascarpone whipped cream was my own recipe that you can find on the Scratch Pantry, and the crunchy almond praline came from Bigger Bolder Baking and you only need a half batch.
Layering all these elements together created a dessert that’s rich, festive, and a little show-stopping—perfect for a holiday table. I love how the spicy gingerbread, creamy custard, nutty praline, and light mascarpone whipped cream all come together in every bite!
